At Total Awesomeness, we believe that being awesome isn’t only about celebrating the good days, achievements and successes.
Sometimes, true awesomeness is shown through courage, strength and determination during the most difficult moments in life.
Riley’s story is a beautiful example of exactly that.
MEETING AN INCREDIBLY BRAVE YOUNG GIRL
Through our work with the Wings of Grace Foundation, we had the privilege of visiting a young girl named Riley while she was recovering at Middlemore Hospital after suffering serious burn injuries to a large part of her body.
Riley had already been through an incredibly difficult journey, including multiple skin grafts and an ongoing recovery process.
Despite everything she had experienced, Riley continued to show remarkable courage and strength.
Meeting her and seeing that strength firsthand was incredibly moving for everyone involved.
SHARING THE TOTAL AWESOMENESS MESSAGE
Our visit was about doing something to help Riley and her family through an extremely challenging time.
We were honoured to bring Riley and her family Total Awesomeness garments, food parcels, a donation and some other goodies to help support them during her recovery.
But more importantly, we wanted Riley to receive the message at the heart of everything Total Awesomeness represents:
You are still Total Awesomeness, no matter what you are going through.
Life can change unexpectedly. People can experience illness, injury, loss, difficult circumstances or moments when they simply don’t feel like themselves. Those circumstances do not take away a person’s value. They do not take away their strength. And they certainly do not take away what makes them awesome.
